Spacious rooms with modern design
06/2017 Our room at Novotel Brisbane is very spacious and modern. There are two large double beds and a cozy sofa in front of the window. We also have a fantastic view of the Brisbane skyline. The bathroom is also in bright colors and equipped with a double washbasin. The bright wood tones and red color accents set highlights and give the room comfort. There is also a safe and a fridge.
Good food, lots of choice but a little sterile atmosphere
We had dinner in the restaurant of Novotel Brisbane, as we did not want to walk into the city again. The food was very good and the selection quite large. Also there were very varied food on the menu - we ordered an Asian dish with noodles and a lot of vegetables and a cheeseburger with fries, which was both delicious. The only negative point at the restaurant is the design of the room. It is kept very clean and only little decorated, whereby one gets the impression of a sterile cafeteria. However, there is a very nice terrace outside with a lot of greenery, which we then used for breakfast. The breakfast buffet is very versatile and there is also a live cooking station with egg dishes and waffles and pancakes.
Good location in the city center
The Novotel Brisbane is located in the city centre and all the sights are within walking distance. Only the access by car was a bit difficult because of the many one-way streets. From the room we had a very nice view of the skyline, which sparcled beautifully in the evening.
Large pool but little possibilities for sunbathing
The Novotel Brisbane has a large outdoor pool on a terrace above the restaurant. Unfortunately, there are no nice areas where you could stay - that´s a pity. To relax, the pool area is not suitable, only for a short cooling on a hot day.
Conclusion: Nice hotel close to the city center
The Novotel Brisbane scores with its large and modern rooms and the central location in the city center. Also the food in the restaurant is varied and tasty. Only the sterile seating area in the restaurant and the unloved designed pool area were a little disappointing.
