10/2007 The Ayers Rock is called Uluru in the language of Aboriginal people. The rock formation is located almost in the center of Australia in the Uluru National Park. The Ayers Rock is made of rust-red arkose sandstone, the color is due to the high iron content of the stone. The red rock is part of a largely underground rock formation that also includes the Olgas which are located 30 kilometers away.
