Beautiful old windmill

06/2023 The Sint-Janshuismolen mill sits picturesquely atop the Kruisvest hill on the edge of Bruges' old town. This wooden post mill dates back to 1770 and is one of the few historic mills still standing in its original location. Once used to produce flour for the townspeople, today it stands as a technical monument, a testament to Bruges' long milling tradition. From its slightly elevated position, a sweeping view opens up over the rooftops of the city – a tranquil, almost rural counterpoint to the medieval silhouette with its towers and gables.
