The fortified church of Ostheim. In the footsteps of the Middle Ages.
11/2012 Ostheim in the Rhoen is not only known for its brewery, which invented Bionade a few years ago, but also for one of the few remaining church fortresses. The church fortress is an ecclesiastical fortress. In the middle of the church fortress in Ostheim is the church of St. Michael. It was first mentioned in documents in 1410.
A walk through the church fortress is really fun and you get a good idea of how people lived back then.
