I made this cake for my mother's birthday, who digs the garden just as diligently and with joy as this mole. She also loves coffee, which is why I chose a mocha filling.

06/2018 I based the look of the little mole on "the little mole" from the Czech children's series . The "earth" he looks out of is made of crumbled Oreo cookies.

The cake is covered with fondant and decorated with a garden fence on the edge. I cut out the pink and purple flowers with fondant punches .

Recipe for sponge cake (dark)

Ingredients:

10 eggs
360 g sugar
250 g wheat flour
70 g starch
70 g cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 packet vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt

Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees top and bottom heat.
Beat the eggs with the sugar for about 8 minutes until a firm white mass is formed.
Mix the flour, cornstarch and cocoa powder, sieve into the egg mixture and fold in carefully.
Pour in the mixture and bake for about 50 minutes.

Mocha cream filling (chef - rose marilis)

Ingredients:

800 ml whipped cream
110 g chocolate, mocha or bittersweet
2 tbsp coffee powder, soluble
4 packs of cream stiffener
4 packs of vanilla sugar

Preparation:

The day before, put the cream for the filling in a saucepan and slowly bring it to the boil while stirring.
Melt the chocolate, broken into pieces, stir in the instant coffee and refrigerate overnight.
Beat the chocolate cream with the cream stiffener and vanilla sugar until stiff.
Fill the cake with the mixture, but do not spread it if you are using fondant.

I then covered the cake with chocolate buttercream suitable for fondant.

For this you need:

200 g dark chocolate
150 ml cream
100 g soft butter
80 g powdered sugar Make a ganache with the chocolate and cream. Cream the butter with the powdered sugar and gradually add the ganache while stirring.
Then continue to beat for a few minutes.
