Beautiful rococo castle
10/2021 Walk through Wilhelmsthal Castle near Calden / Kassel. The pleasure palace built between 1743 and 1761 was built for the Hessian Landgrave Wilhelm VIII and is considered a Rococo masterpiece.
The landscape garden, which was remodeled around 1800, contains other highlights such as an observation tower.
Unfortunately, during our visit in October 2022, the grotto and water features were completely closed off due to construction work. Apparently there are fundamental innovations here.
