Chestnut exempt

10/2012 Chestnuts are simply great. Freshly emerged from their prickly shells in the autumn, they are completely smooth. The hard, dark outer shell has a beautiful pattern, like that of tropical wood. It's a shame that the chestnut shrinks into a shriveled marble after just a few days in the dry air. Nothing lasts forever.
