08/2008 This photo shows the dormitory of the Eberbach Monastery in Eltville am Rhein. The monastery was partially used for the shooting of the film known as "The Name of the Rose." A few scenes of the movie play in the interiors and courtyards of the monastery Eberbach. The Name of the Rose is the first novel by Umberto Eco. The film is with Sean Connery in the lead role.
A visit to the monastery is highly recommended, as well as a stop at the monastery restaurant. Delicious food and drinks are served here! For the short stay there is also a gastronomy in Pfortenhaus. The monastery also has its own hotel with about 20 Rooms.
