Functional rooms
03/2013 The rooms are functionally furnished and most have a nice balcony. We lived very quietly on the first floor facing the forest. The room was quite spacious and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, only the shower room was inside and quite small. Overall, the room and the bathroom could be made a little nicer or small renovations (carpeting) could be carried out.
Good dinner, breakfast with potential
We were in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. It is very bright, with large windows, an open roof and decorated in bright, inviting colors. The service is very friendly and the breakfast buffet has everything you need. The quality of the food is average, however. Dinner is different: the food is very high quality, beautifully presented and very tasty - a big difference to the tourist restaurants in Braunlage.
Pure peace
The Relexa Hotel Harzwald is located on the outskirts of Braunlage. The town with its shops, as well as the ice rink and the cable car to Wurmberg are easily accessible on foot. The hotel is in a very quiet location next to the forest and there is a small stream that flows past the garden. You can also start your excursions in the Harz from Braunlage, as many sights can be reached quickly from here.
80s charm in the wellness area
Like the entire hotel, the wellness area also has an 80s charm. You can clearly see that the building used to be a spa clinic. The wellness area actually has everything you need - a warm, spacious indoor pool, two saunas at different temperatures, a steam bath and a relaxation room. Unfortunately, everything is tiled to the wall, there are plastic loungers by the pool and in the relaxation room and the steam bath shows clear traces of mold. Unfortunately, everything is not very inviting and could do with a beauty treatment.
Conclusion:
At the Relexa Hotel Harzwal the price-performance ratio is right and it is certainly a nice hotel for a shorter stay or for travelers who are more price-conscious. It is also suitable for children as there is a nice playroom next to the restaurant. But I wouldn't recommend it as a wellness hotel because the wellness area doesn't invite you to linger. Overall, the hotel needs a general overhaul or a makeover.
