08/2013 One of my favorite plants is the Purple Coneflower. The flower of the sunflower family has a great hedgehog-like flower head with orange-red fibers during the flowering period. A beautiful color combination. The Purple Coneflower is a medicinal herb. In Germany we have a medicine with a name which is very similar to the Latin name of the coneflower - Echinacea.
