Frauenkirche, view from Neumarkt
05/2008 Dresden is one of the most beautiful cities in East Germany. Particularly impressive is the Frauenkirche, which lay in ruins between 1994 and 2005 after being destroyed in the last days of the war in 1945. It is thanks to the numerous donations from businesses and private individuals from all over the world that Dresden can call such a cultural gem its own. A particularly worthwhile view can be had from inside the church if you look up into the dome.
