Mosque with burial chamber

09/2021 The Fetichie Mosque stands on the site of the old town or fortress of Ioannina. Originally, the wooden mosque was built there in 1430. In 1611 the first stone mosque was built here. This was extensively redesigned and rebuilt in 1795 by Tepedelenli Ali Pasha. In front of the mosque, under the lattice cage, is the burial chamber of Tepedelenli Ali Pasha and his family.
