Dettifoss and Hverir in Iceland trip

02/2021 A highlight of our Iceland trip was the Dettifoss waterfall. Not only known from films like Prometheus, the dimensions are also special. We also dared to go to the lower viewing platform and were really wet afterwards from the spray.

From the Dettifoss waterfall we continued towards Mývatn and shortly before our hotel we passed a very bizarre landscape. The area called Hverir or Hverarönd is volcanically active and boiling everywhere. Despite the strong smell, a welcome change, as it was below 0 degrees in parts that day (and that in summer!).
