01/2015 This panorama of the Grand Canal and the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute was taken from the Ponte dell'Accademia, the Academy's bridge. The wooden bridge crosses the Grand Canal at the Palazzo Cavalli-Franchetti (the yellow and white building on the left) to the Dorsoduro Peninsula, part of Venice. From the bridge you have a great view of the Grand Canal and Santa Maria della Salute. A very nice view at sunset. The Santa Maria della Salute is at the east end of Dorsoduro and the end of the Grand Canal.
