03/2023 In the heart of Jordan, just 30 kilometers southeast of Madaba, lies an archaeological treasure trove: Umm ar-Rasas. This ancient city, once a thriving outpost of the Romans, Byzantines and later the early Muslim civilization, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2004 and fascinates visitors with its well-preserved mosaics, church ruins and mysterious towers.
