Ancient culture in Gerasa
04/2023 The picture shows us the imposing Roman theater of Jerash (Gerasa) in Jordan, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the world. The complex dates back to the 2nd century AD and seats up to 3,000 visitors. The amphitheater was used for theater performances, music, and public events and impresses with its semicircular shape and elaborately decorated stage facade. From the upper rows of seats, one enjoys a panoramic view of the excavations and the city of Jerash.
