Old Fortress

03/2023 Shobak Castle, also known as the Crusader Castle of Montreal, is a large fortress dating back to 1115. The hilltop castle has an exciting history and was once built as a security post for the trade route from Jerusalem to Aqaba. The name comes from Maurice of Montreal, who inherited the castle in 1147. The complex is worth a visit and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area, as shown in the picture here.
