Church floor

03/2023 Not much of the church's structure can be seen anymore. But some of the mosaics on the floor are well preserved. The exposed mosaics show animal motifs, food or personified representations of the seasons. It is believed that the church was built in the 5th and 6th centuries AD. It was destroyed in earthquakes and collapsed. The rubble and layers of sand protected the mosaics from destruction for many centuries.
