03/2023 Right on top of the mountain, high above the plain of Petra, lies the High Sacrificial Site. The photo shows a bowl in which libations were probably made. The liquid could quickly drain away through the channel. The sacrificial site also consists of various basins and areas that cannot be seen here. From the sacrificial site you have a great view of the surrounding area and the wonderful mountain landscape of Petra.
