Petrified Rainbow

03/2023 The rocks in Petra in Jordan are something special. The multi-coloured sandstone is criss-crossed with lines and patterns. The reddish colour is created by iron and manganese oxides. It sometimes looks as if a rainbow has been petrified here. Here in the royal tombs there was also a sun star shining through the door - wonderful!
