Report from our overnight stay at the Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort and Spa.

Beautiful, high-quality room
04/2023 The Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort and Spa was probably the best-equipped hotel on our trip to Jordan. The room was large, modern, and had a small balcony. The bathroom was also very nice and well-maintained.
A positive feature was that there was a light on either side of the mirror. This made shaving easy for us men. Good lighting is so important. I don't understand why many other hotels can't achieve this.
Buffet restaurant with good food
The hotel's restaurant was also okay. Typical for warm countries, most of the tables were in the air-conditioned interior. Fortunately, there were also a few tables outside. We prefer sitting in the fresh air, which is fine, especially in the evenings, given the warmth. It would have been too noisy inside for me. The hotel seems to be well booked.

Directly on the Dead Sea with private beach
Anyone who goes to the Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort and Spa is on a beach vacation. There's not much else to do in the area. At least we had already explored some of the sights from our other hotel near the Main Hot Springs.
However, only two overnight stays were an option for us, as more than one day at the Dead Sea beach is perfectly sufficient. The idea of floating in the water for hours and reading a book is false. The salty water is so harsh that you wouldn't want to subject your skin to more than 20 minutes without a shower. Anyone who gets Dead Sea water in their eyes should quickly get to the shower and rinse their eyes to avoid damage. The lifeguard is usually standing on the shore with a running garden hose. Water shoes are also required due to the sharp stones with salt crystals.

Large hotel pool
The Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort and Spa has a very large, circular pool in the center of the complex. However, large parts of the pool were inaccessible to guests. Furthermore, there weren't enough shaded areas, in my opinion. Therefore, the pool area didn't really impress me. The small pool with the pool bar, on the other hand, was completely overcrowded and there was no room to be found. A real shame.

Nice, but with disadvantages
The hotel itself is a good place to stay. Large rooms, well-maintained grounds, good food, and a private beach. Ideal for a swim in the Dead Sea. However, the hotel also had drawbacks. The large main pool wasn't really a place to lie down and relax. There was too little shade, too many children. The small pool with the pool bar was too crowded. The beach is connected by a footpath and is far too hot during the day. You don't need to stay more than one or two nights here.
On the positive side, however, the hotel apologized for the incident, and since we were also staying at a Crowne Plaza in Amman, the hotel manager arranged there a free upgrade for us. I thought that was great!
Another point was that upon arrival, we had a somewhat strange encounter with an employee at the entrance who obviously took issue with me wanting to park my car myself. When we left, someone had written a swear word on the dusty hood. Even though the hotel supposedly couldn't find anyone on the security cameras who had written it, it still leaves a bad taste and a suspicion.
