Historical Walls
01/2023 This shot shows the old town of Mdina in Malta. The historic city is surrounded by a wall and looks like a fortress. The settlement of the place even goes back to the Bronze Age. Phenicians and Romans built this place into a fortress. In 1530, Mdina became the capital of the island under the Knights Hospitaller. However, that later changed and the capital became Birgu and then Valletta. Today, the city and the Cathedral of St. Paul are of great importance to many residents of Malta, especially on religious holidays.
