Goddess of fertility

12/2022 The Tarxien Temple was discovered by chance in 1914 by a farmer while he was plowing and was excavated in the following years with the help of the national museum. A highlight of the complex is a statue of the Magna Mater, the representation of a mother goddess or a fertility symbol. However, only the lower half of the statue has survived.
