Colourful South in Mauritius

02/2009 We were in Mauritius in March 2009. During our vacation we also made two day trips on the beautiful island. One of them was called "The Colorful South." The trip was wonderful! First we went to Curepipe to the highest volcanic crater on the island, the Trou aux Cerf. On the way to Grand Bassin we visited the Hindu pilgrimage site at the "Holy Lake". Not far away is the Black River Georges National Park. From there it was not far to the mountain village of Chamarel with its 100 m high waterfall and the multicolored shimmering layers of earth - the seven-colored earth.
