Palenque, Mayan temples and pyramids at their most beautiful

03/2011 In the morning we headed off into the rainforest. With two locals we walked along trails and through streams to the Mayan pyramids and temples of Palenque. The temple complex is wonderfully integrated into the jungle. For us, Palenque was the most beautiful Mayan excavation on the tour so far. In the afternoon we drove on to Agua Azul. Here crystal clear water flows down the mountain in cascades. It's also wonderful for swimming.
