The Grand Canyon of Oman

02/2019 On our second day of our tour in Oman, we first went to Jebel Shams from our hotel The View in Al Hamra. This mountain is the highest in Oman and is listed at 3028 meters. From Jebel Shams you can look into the mountain gorges, which look surprisingly similar to the Grand Canyon in the USA. On the way to Jebel Shams we drove past the villages of Riwaygh and Misfah.

We then continued to Sayq to the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort. In addition to a great room and a very beautiful hotel complex, the luxury hotel offers, above all, a magnificent view. Apparently Princess Diana was there before, but only to enjoy the view. Because the hotel didn't exist back then.
