06/2022 The Aqueduto do Carvao is an old aqueduct in the west of Sao Miguel that is no longer used today. You could even drive a car through the large openings. There are several such relics in the West. Due to the high rainfall in the Azores, the walls of the aqueduct are heavily overgrown and therefore look like a part of nature.
