Old hotel as a lost place on Sao Miguel

Decaying palace

06/2022 The history of the Monte Palace Hotel is a sad one. The former 5-star hotel was only introduced after long delays and then closed again in 1990 after only 18 months of operation. Back then they miscalculated and the guests didn't come. Since then it has been sold several times, but the complex is falling into disrepair. Today it is a lost place that attracts a surprising number of people. The ruins seem more interesting than the Miradouro da Vista do Rei viewpoint.
