Large modern room with sea view
11/2016 All rooms at Hotel Sensimar Royal Palm have direct or side sea views. Our room (no 3103) is located in a building wing at the front pool with direct view of the sea and the beach. The room, as well as the terrace, are very large. We have a large double bed, a small refrigerator, a flat screen TV and a closet with safe. The safe is very small, not even a SLR camera fits in. The WLan in the room, as well as on the whole hotel area, was very good.
The bathroom is also decorated in bright, friendly colors. Despite the size of the bathroom there is only a shower in the bathtub. Especialy for older people his is not very confortable. Otherwise, there is enough storage space and bright light at the sink.
Good food but too few outdoor seating
The hotel has three restaurants. The main restaurant (Ischia) is located between the lobby and the upper pool. The buffet is huge and offers everything from different appetizers, main dishes and deserts. Even the coffee for breakfast tastes good. At the main restaurant there is only one serious criticism. There are far too few seats in the open air area, which always led to a long queue time.
The second restaurant (Casanova) offered a candlelight dinner twice a week. For 25 € per person you got four courses offered. The food was qualitative and quantitative very good and also the very friendly staff offered no reason for criticism. Only the location seemed not well prepared for a candlelight dinner. Instead of sitting in a cozy dimmed light, you sit in a brightly lit room - that´s a shame!
The third restaurant (chill-out-bar) was only open during the day. Here you can enjoy delicious pizzas, burgers or baguettes for lunch. Delicious ice cream is also available here.
Direct beach location in the south of the island near Morro Jable
From the airport it is a long journey to the Hotel Sensimar Royal Palm Resort. The hotel is located very south of the island between Butihondo and Morro Jable. From the airport, there are 88 km of track. The hotel is located above a beautiful beach and is built like a staircase in the rocky slope. On the island there is very little to see. In two days you can see the complete island with a rented car. The island is bare and rocky except for the dunes in the north. There are no real sights. There are great beaches and water sports. Right next to the hotel at the Aldiana Resort there is a surf and catamaran sailing school. For a course you should register in advance and schedule three to five days. Nearby is also a large shopping center with supermarket.
Beautiful maintained complex with high standard
The Hotel Sensimar Royal Palm on Fuerteventura actually offers everything you need for a great holiday. The outdoor area is beautifully and well maintained. Only the many stairs are a bit annoying. For older guests there are lifts everywhere, except to the beach. Also the public areas are very generous. In the lobby you could play football, at the indoor pool area there could be a second pool of the same size and the bar for the evening events is oversized. All this has a negative touch, as the hotel seams to be rather sterile and not cozy.
The Sauna can be used one time per guest and stay free of charge. Spa treatments are also available and the quality was okay but not outstanding. Too bad, that there is no heated jacuzzi in the hotel. There is only one jacuzzi that is designed for a maximum of three people. In the indoor pool area would be plenty of space for several jacuzzis. Obviously a bad planning! The temperature of the outdoor pools could have been a bit warmer.
Conclusion: Good hotel for a relaxing holiday
If you just want to relax and have peace, the Hotel Sensimar Royal Palm is the right place! There is no noise and the animation is very discreet. Also the food was good and alternating. The friendly staff can be mentioned again.
