01/2012 The Forbidden City was the complex of the Chinese emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties until the revolution in 1911. Access was forbidden to ordinary people - hence the name Forbidden City. Today you can enter the complex for a few Yuan and look at the magnificent squares, temples and buildings.
