Wildenberg castle ruins in the Odenwald

Castle from the Hohenstaufen era

02/2021 We are currently exploring a different corner of the Odenwald every weekend. This time we were near Amorbach. The Wildenberg castle ruins are located there. From the parking lot at the Watterbacher Haus in Preunschen we went through the forest to the castle from the Staufer era. The facility, which was built around 1200, is partially well preserved. The large fireplace, which is still visible, is impressive. In any case, a great destination for a hiking excursion or a walk in the Odenwald.
