On the way to South Tyrol, it is definitely worth stopping in Sterzing and its pretty pedestrian zone. The Gilfenklamm gorge is also close by (near Stange) - a real natural highlight!

Pretty old town and impressive nature
04/2021 On the way to South Tyrol, a stop in Sterzing is definitely worthwhile. The town impresses with its pretty pedestrian zone with shops, restaurants and historic houses as well as the Zwölferturm (clocktower), which dominates the townscape. Nearby (near Stange) is the Gilfenklamm gorge. A hike through the gorge and back over the mountain is a real nature highlight. It goes past imposing rocks and waterfalls up the mountain, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside.
