Glass sculpture on Murano
01/2015 The small island of Murano is just a few kilometers from Venice. You can travel from Venice to Murano by boat in around 20 minutes. The island is world-famous for its handicrafts in glass processing. There are several glassworks and glassblowing factories on the island. There are countless shops selling glass products such as lamps, decorative glass elements or simply beautiful art on the small water canals. The photo shows a sculpture made of blue and white glass tubes that is set up in a public square in Murano. The photo was taken from below against the sky. The glass tubes appear to glow against the light.
