Beautiful canal in Dorsoduro Venice

Canal Rio de San Barnaba

01/2015 A walk through the Dorsoduro district of Venice is highly recommended. It is not nearly as crowded and touristy as the main island of Venice - San Marco. You can start wonderful tours from the Ponte dell'Accademia.

The canal in the photo is the Rio de San Barnaba, a small canal in Venice that flows into the Grand Canal at the end. The church tower in the middle is already on the other side of the Grand Canal. It is the Chiesa di San Samuele church. Venice has many small canals, but this is definitely one of the most beautiful, at least in Dorsoduro.
