Worthwhile hike
03/2023 For those who walk through the normal entrance to the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Petra, the hike to the monastery temple is a strenuous tour. The temple is far from the center of the complex and the path leads through the mountains. If you want, you can also ride a donkey up the sometimes steep stairs carved into the rock. We preferred the hike on foot. But the walk to the temple, which is also called Ad Deir, was worth it. The 47-meter-wide and 48-meter-high building is impressive!
