Description
08/2020 The Kaore 3 is a grain genever from the Netherlands. It is made from grain (65% barley and 35% rye) and stored in a sherry barrel for several months to mature. The IWSC jury awarded the Genever a gold medal and 96 points in the Gin 2020 category.
I had organized the genever by writing to the owner of the small distillery, the Mworveld Distillery. He had sent the bottle by post from the Netherlands at a good price. I hadn't tried genever before and was surprised at the first taste test. A genever actually tastes much less like gin and much more like whiskey.
