Cape Town Clock Tower at the Waterfront

09/2014 Here in Cape Town on the Waterfront you will find the Clock Tower, an old jewel of the city's history. The building stands in striking colors on the dock. The building was built in 1882 right on the pier. It was probably intended to give sailors and dock workers the time. At that time, clocks were usually only installed in church towers or official buildings such as town halls. The Clock Tower in Cape Town on the Waterfront is nothing like that. The Clock Tower was simply the harbor master's office.
