The Great Royal Palace in Bangkok
11/2014 During our stay in Bangkok (Thailand) we visited the Grand Palace. The best way to get to the Grand Palace is by boat across the river. It is only a few meters from the jetty to the entrance to the Grand Palace.
The crowds start at the entrance to the Royal Palace. Be careful not to get in the wrong line. Make sure you check the dress code in the Grand Palace beforehand. Short skirts and trousers are not allowed, as are overly revealing tops. If you are not dressed appropriately, you will not be allowed in straight away, but will first have to get in line to borrow appropriate clothing. The interior of the Grand Palace is full. The Grand Palace is a very popular tourist attraction. It is impossible to take a photo of the complex without people. There are temples and magnificently decorated government and palace buildings to see. Everything is very detailed, classy and colorful. Not only is the visit worthwhile, it is practically a must if you are travelling to Thailand and are interested in the culture. A tip: take something to drink with you. It can get very hot in Bangkok during the day and there are no drinks stands in the Grand Palace itself.
