Stones by the lake
07/2011 After crossing the Kampa-La mountain pass at 4,794m above sea level, we went back down to Jasper Lake, which the locals also call Yamdrok-Tso Lake. The lake is sacred to Buddhists and is the highest drinking water lake in the world. In the hot sun, the water turns a beautiful turquoise color. Yamdrok Lake is located 110km south-west of Lhasa, in Nanggarze County, Shannan District.
