11/2011 The Tashilhunpo Monastery was founded in 1447 by the first Dalai Lama. It is located in Shigatse (Xigaze)- the second largest city of Tibet. The photo shows a monk walking across the street within the monastery. The monastery is the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama.
