Mountains and caves

02/2017 On the first day of our classic car tour we went to Vinales in the chic green Ford from 1958. On the way we visited a botanical garden in Soroa, the Orquideario de Soroa. In Vinales there is a national park with interesting mountains. These are riddled with caves. Some of them have underground rivers that you can take boats on. A trip like this was our first item on the program. After lunch we went to the Mural de la Prehistoria, a huge work of art on a mountainside. It depicts dinosaurs, painted by a Mexican artist, Leovigildo González Morillo, in 1961. We arrived at our accommodation in the afternoon. The family house is painted completely pink. The rocking chairs in front of the house are the most beautiful. We explore the small town on foot until sunset.
