Six gears need the wheel

07/2015 Almost nostalgic acts the old lever of the gearshift of my station-bicycle. Privately purchased for 30 Euro does it one year his services without a single interruption. The wheel is already 20 years old and still consists entirely of original parts. My first bike had just such a six-speed gearshift. However, the gearshift was located down on the frame next to the bottle holder. In order to change gear you had to still bend far down. In times of Grip-Shift and usually more than 20 gears that is hard to imagine today. Actually I drive for one year always in fourth gear. Not because this is marked here in red, but because everything in Bickenbach is flat and it's easy to start in the fourth well and then drive comfortably.
