Hilton Hotel Düsseldorf
The Hilton Hotel Dusseldorf is a good place for a city trip, it is not so central, but quiet.

Spacious room, small bathroom
06/2015 The Hilton Dusseldorf offers spacious, brand new and clean rooms. It's all there, what you need: an ironing board and iron, kettle, tea and coffee and a large safe. In addition to a desk with comfortable office chair, there is a cozy armchair with footrest. Unfortunately missing free outlets beside the beds. The bathroom gets minuses, because it is very small and there are no hooks for hanging robes. The shower often went from warm to cold water. But the lighting was good and there was a large mirror. We had booked executive double room, which has proved to be very positive. These rooms are located on the top three floors, it is very quiet and you have direct access to the Executive Lounge. There you get free alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, coffee and tea. In the morning and evening, there is also a small buffet with hot and cold food - so we didn´t have to search for a restaurant on arrival and had tasty salad and noodles with pesto there. The lounge has comfortable sofa corners, small tables and a nice view.
Nice breakfast restaurant with terrace
The breakfast was very good and you had a lot of choices. The first morning we sat on the terrace. What we liked there, you get the juices and coffee brought directly to the table. In addition, you can order egg dishes and pancakes, which one gets also brought. Unfortunately, we did found that the selection at the weekend was much smaller than at breakfast on Friday. In addition to the buffet restaurant, there is a chic bar. There we had our welcome drink. Unfortunately the bar is directly connected to the lobby where there are loud echoes due to the very high ceiling, making it not so cozy.
In suburban location near the river Rhine
The Hilton Dusseldorf is not located in the city center but in the north near the river Rhine. It is located in the immediate vicinity of office buildings and the university. For this it is very quiet and the banks of the Rhine is quickly reachable on foot. Two streets away drives the tram to the center, that one can accomplish in ten minutes. Near the station there are also small restaurants (like Vapiano) and small shops. Directly at the hotel there is a very large car park which is chargeable – that was very annoying. In this situation, the hotel could offer free parking. We have found free parking without fee just a few meters away.
Saunas, relaxation area and fitness center
In the basement there are a small fitness center, two saunas with a rain shower and a relaxation area. On the first evening we were in the sauna and have then placed us there briefly on the couches. The rest area is not very comfortable, but clean and quite modern. You will find the elevators to the sauna very bad, as they are hardly signposted. Without demand at the lobby we could not find it. The lockers in the sauna area are not lockable, so we had to take our clothes to the lounge chairs. After a busy day of sightseeing, it was nice to relax there and to sit comfortably in the executive lounge without the hustle of finding another restaurant.
Good hotel for city trip
The Hilton Dusseldorf is modern, clean and attractive. We especially enjoyed the Executive Service (with lounge and modern rooms). The restaurant and the public areas and the sauna are nicely decorated. If you want to walk to the center, then the Hilton is not a good choice. One is dependent on the tram or the car, but it has a quiet location.
