Pillnitz Castle near Dresden
05/2008 The Pillnitz castle complex is an extraordinary composition of architecture and gardening, inserted into the river landscape in front of the vineyards of the Elbe valley. In the early 18th century, the foundation stone for one of the most important Chinese architectures in Europe was laid with the construction of the Water- and Mountainpalais. A trip with one of the steam ships from Dresden to the castle is highly recommended.
