Old stone arches from the knightly era

03/2023 On our trip through Jordan we also visited the Crusader Castle of Montreal. The hilltop castle is also called Shobak Castle because it is located in the town of Shobak. The very large complex dates back to 1115 and was originally built as a security post for a trade route from Jerusalem to Aqaba. Today the castle is a ruin that can be visited. Despite its dilapidated state, there are many beautiful corners in the complex that are worth a photo.
