Baby pineapples in the Azores

05/2022 The photo shows a baby pineapple that appears to be still in the flowering stage. At this point the pineapple looks very colorful. I had never seen anything like that before. We were at the pineapple plantation near Ponta Delgada, the Plantacao de Ananas dos Acores. Here you could visit some of the growers and find out how the cultivation of the tropical fruit works.
