Visit the small town of Bowen with its beautiful beaches. Then drive to Townsville with a stopover at Mt. Stuart Lookout.

Beaches to linger
12/2015 A real highlight was Hoseshoe Bend Beach near Bowen. Bowen itself is rather ugly, but the beaches are fantastic. We walk from the beach to a viewpoint and then, after a lunch stop, continue towards Townsville. Just before Townsville there is the Mt. Stuart Lookout. Here you can see how big Townsville is.
