Hold on until the end
10/2010 This year, Commerzbank booked the best weather for the Commerzbank Marathon Frankfurt 2010. As every year, thousands of runners started the 42.195 km long race in glorious sunshine and just under 18 degrees. We photographed the runners on the Old Bridge in front of the Frankfurt skyline. Afterwards, they went to the Festhalle to see the top runners cross the finish line. The organizers had brought in a number of top runners for this year's marathon. The Kenyan Wilson Kipsang won the Commerzbank Frankfurt Marathon with an incredible time of 2:04:57 (H:M:S). Second place went to Tadese Tola (Ethiopia) with 2:06:31. He was followed by the Kenyan Elijah Chelimo (2:07:04) and Philip Sanga (2:07:11). In the women's race, Kenyan Caroline Kilel won, surprising the stronger Ethiopian competition and winning in a course record time of 2:23:25 ahead of Dire Tune (Ethiopia/2:23:44). After the spectacle in the Festhalle, we went to the square in front of the Old Opera and then to the Main Tower. With absolutely no wind, you could enjoy the panoramic view of Frankfurt from the observation platform. Unfortunately, the visibility was not that great.
