Modern and large room
06/2021 Our room at Fosshotel Reykholt was very bright, modern and newly renovated. The size of the room was more than adequate, just right to be able to spread out with two large suitcases. The bathroom was also great and there was no reason for criticism.
Restaurant
A bar and a restaurant are available. However, we only used the restaurant for breakfast. The breakfast was international with all the usual food and drinks. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo.
Starting point for beautiful excursions in the area
The well-known Snorralaug including the church of the well-known pastor can be found directly in Reykholt. Within driving distance are the thermal baths in Krauma (see travel video North West of Iceland link below) as well as the waterfalls Hraunfossar (photo) and Barnafoss (see travel video links below) and the largest volcanic cave Vidgelmir .
Beautiful spa and wellness area
The Fosshotel Reykholt has a beautiful spa & wellness area in the basement with several outdoor hot-tubs as well as loungers and seating areas by an artificial fire (see photo).
Gladly again
We really liked the Fosshotel Reykholt and with the spa and wellness area it also offers a great opportunity to relax in the evening. The good location between several destinations makes the hotel a good place to stay. In my opinion, one night is enough to explore the highlights in the area.
