Red Fortress

09/2022 Silves is known for its fortress (Castelo de Silves) with walls made of red sandstone. I took the photo from the Miradouro de Silves in the evening sun. The sun was already a bit low, but in some places you can still see the red walls glowing in the sun. The castle dates back to the Middle Ages, around the 12th/13th century. Century.
